Is McCain Running for Bush's Third Term
Submitted by Jon Henke on Tue, 06/10/2008 - 19:14
One group of people doesn't seem to think John McCain is going to be a continuation of the Bush administration...
According to a Congressional Quarterly analysis, only about 5,000 of the 62,800 donors who gave the maximum contribution of $2,000 to Bush — roughly 8 percent — had given to McCain as of April 30.

No kidding.
I donated several thousand dollars in 2004 to get Bush and other Republicans elected. I donated to the RNC, directly to various candidates, and to several 527s. I also took time off work to help with the GOTV.
Needless to say, I won't be doing any of these things this time. And the same party which fills my mailbox with requests for financial help dismisses me as a crank when I try to tell them what they are doing wrong. What part of "constituient service" do these morons not understand?
Well you *are* cranky...
And so am I - especially when it comes to spending my hard-earned money for stupid policies that I don't support. I always try not to rip the RNC volunteers a new one when they call, though. They are still so earnest, sincere, young and dumb.
But while you direct your ire toward the GOP, I direct mine toward an entire generation of complete idiots who have been pathetic stewards of this country's energy supply and infrastructure while pretending to be "environmentally concerned" as they drive their gas-guzzling SUV's to the mountains and the deserts to "enjoy nature". At lesat McCain is not a Baby Boomer.
But even without our support, The Hill reported today that Stephen Muss will open his considerable wallet to McCain and the RNC. Apparently Obama's AIPAC pander didn't win him any friends where Israel's "existential problem" is concerned. If he should win in November, I will not be the least surprised if Bush's parting gift is a concerted air strike against Iran - unless Bibi (Benjamin Netanyahu) beats him to it.
Shocking results
GWB offered us a bill of sale we liked and some items we didn't. He and congress got next to none of the things we liked done and tried to do tons of stuff we hated and
-gasp- they are shocked when we don't send them money. And so they try to do more of the things which tick us off.....thinking that will get them money
Well...
He had better find SOMEBODY who likes him.
Double edged sword
LOL
Heh, yeah.. is this an advantage or not?
And even if they did, would they still contribute? I'm thinking no. Buyer's remorse would have set in by now.
Cheers.
I disagree
The Gop leadership went south from the Grassroots in 05 and 06 and the money hasn't come back. I think if McCain got us grumpy folks happy money would come back
