You May Be A Radical Too...

Inappropriate Humor Alert...

Tea Party protesters won a victory today as the mainstream media could not ignore their protests like they have in the past. As expected some of the media described the protesters as radicals (ever-classy and most-trusted Anderson Cooper of CNN used an obscene joke to describe the attendees) despite the pictures showing peaceful gatherings of people of all ages in attendance. Yet media logic dictates if you don't love Obama, you must be crazy. Yet it's not just the media searching for crazy. A report was leaked by DHS on "Rightwing Extremism." To quote the report,

Rightwing extremist chatter on the Internet continues to focus on the economy, the perceived loss of U.S. jobs in the manufacturing and construction sectors, and home foreclosures.

Dang it, I'm a radical. There were signs, once in high school I got a detention for a overdue library book; even back then I was bad. My internet chatter about obscene government spending has all been a clever ploy to manipulate my readers to take radical action like, 'vote the bums out,' or 'tell your representatives what you think.' I tell you I'm bad, and if I didn't have a job or a cold I would have been one of those crazy tea party animals too. You need further proof that I'm a radical? How about this...

Rightwing extremist views bemoan the decline of U.S. stature and have recently focused on themes such as the loss of U.S. manufacturing capability to China and India, Russia’s control of energy resources and use of these to pressure other countries, and China’s investment in U.S. real estate and corporations as a part of subversion strategy.

Well there you have it. I'm concerned that China owns us, and all our debt, I must be a radical. Granted, I'm a centrist on guns and immigration, and lean a bit left on the social issues discussed in the report, but imagine my surprise to find out that I've been cavorting with other radicals over the past 2 years by volunteering for the McCain campaign. Pro-life, pro-second amendment, high concentration of veterans, don't let the good humor, sarcastic wit, family values, and helpful manner fool you - we were all a big bunch of radicals, just ask MSNBC.

Now I know there is a serious side to this report. Every group in every country has its nutballs, and its the government's main job to protect its citizens from radicals of all sorts. Yet this seems like a veiled attempt to blur the line between staunch conservatives and radical Klan-like groups, when in reality that is a very clear and distict line. Veterans in particular are owed an apology for their less than flattering portrayal in this report. As for me, I'm going to keep chattering about the economy, and take pride in the fact that someone out there thinks I'm radical.

You Could Be A Radical Too...

Enjoy a Hot Doddy on St. Patrick's Day!

My senior senator is becoming quite the object of derision these days.  Caribou Barbie is so last year, this year's comedian's pin cushion is tunring into Chris Dodd.

Here's Scappleface. Sadly, very few words were changed from Dodd'a actual press releases---and the campaign finance numbers are accurate

Obama, Dodd Outraged at AIG Campaign Cash

(2009-03-17) — As the furor over AIG executive bonuses threatened to bring the current economic recovery to a halt, President Barack Obama and Sen. Chris Dodd today threw fuel on the fire, announcing their “fierce outrage” upon hearing that the insurance giant had given each of their campaigns more than $100,000 last year.

“While AIG was collapsing, and her executives crawling to DC with hat in hand,” said Sen. Dodd, D-CT, “my campaign, and then-Senator Obama’s were getting what can only be termed influence bonuses from the same firm. Naturally, I knew nothing about this, and I’m now seething with anger at the injustice.”

President Obama and Sen. Dodd were the two largest recipients of campaign contributions from the beleaguered company, and the only politicians to garner six-figure amounts from AIG in 2008 — $103,100 for Sen. Dodd and $100,332 for presidential candidate Obama.

AIG, which has received $170 billion in taxpayer cash from the federal government since September, gave more than $585,000 to Congressional and presidential candidates last year, favoring Democrats 3-to-1 over Republicans.

In unrelated news, Sen. Dodd proposed legislation requiring AIG political gifts to be returned to the U.S. Treasury, “exempting only those campaign contributions made before November 4, 2008.”

The senator’s office immediately issued a statement declaring that Sen. Dodd was not aware that he had proposed such the exemption.

Powerline points out what has become common knowledge during the course of the day; that Senator Dodd's amendment intending to restrict corporate compensation of bailout recipients--tacked onto the Porkulus bill--grandfathered in the obscene bonuses being paid to the least competent executives in American business history.

Not to be outdone in festive spirit, the NRSC has a new web ad up poking fun at Dodd and his "luck" in obtaining resort homes and sweetheart mortgages. But was'nt there a better Irish accent to be found in voiceoverworld?. Please

If this keeps up, maybe Chris Dodd and Tim Geithner can do a lounge act on the Vegas strip, since they seem to be such funny guys of late.

Baseball adopts Obama policy towards financiers

Baseball Commissioner:  Last place teams must pay players only league minimum In response to fan outcry at the poor on-field performance and wasteful spending of such last place teams as the Baltimore Orioles and the Seattle Mariners, Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig has ordered all such teams to cap their player's salaries at the league minimum.

Noting that such clubs receive payments from MLB's "luxury tax" Selig demanded   "some restraint in exchange for MLB aid -- so that when teams seek new MLB dollars, we won't find them up to the same old tricks,"

One agent suggested that the new limit would guarantee future poor play by these clubs as more talented players signed with other clubs able to pay them more, or even took up more lucrative pro sports

'The unintended consequence is that it may be hard to recruit top players to sign for these teams, if you have to keep this limit in place."

Obama Film Poster Parodies

Some comedy from yours truly -

The rhyme of reason

One of my friends is a town clerk in eastern CT and she sent me this little rhyme which has been making the rounds.  I think it explains the stakes Tuesday pretty well.

'Twas the Night Before "lection

'Twas the night before elections
And all through the town
Tempers were flaring
Emotions all up and down!

I, in my bathrobe
With a cat in my lap
Had cut off the TV
Tired of political crap.

When all of a sudden
There arose such a noise
I peered out of my window
Saw Obama and his boys

They had come for my wallet
They wanted my pay
To give to the others
Who had not worked a day!

He snatched up my money
And quick as a wink
Jumped back on his bandwagon
As I gagged from the stink

He then rallied his henchmen
Who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out
To tear my country apart!

" On Fannie, on Freddie,
On Biden and Ayers!
On Acorn, On Pelosi"
He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause
And as he flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn't stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think
On this one final note-

IF YOU DON'T WANT SOCIALISM
GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!

The Mac is Back!

McCain displays some of his natural candor and wit that I used to know and love him for when a kid asks a resonable, yet undoubtedly irritating question on the campaign trail this week.

The best way to exploit the "many mansions" flap

In thinking about the brouhaha over the McCain gaffe on "how many houses"I was reminded of a line from one of my favorite actors, Clint Eastwood

Go to fullsize image

" In all the excitement I guess I lost count. Did I fire five shots, or did I fire six?"

http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=eastwood+feel+lucky&hl=en&emb=0#

I believe Eastwood is supporting McCain

http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2008/08/14/mccain-clint-eastwood-bond-over-olympics-politics/

How about Eastwood doing this for an ad.

"Someone asked my friend  John McCain about how many houses he and his wife owned. And in all the excitement of a presidential campaign I guess he lost count on whether it was six houses , or seven.

But there's one thing for sure. At this critical time for America, we should all feel lucky we have a man with the character, the courage and the decency of John McCain.

This November. make my day. Elect John McCain our President"

Humor as a Remedy for Hubris

Senator McCain's sense of humor has been both an asset and a liability over the years. It is certainly part of his basic appeal, and it is one of the reasons he relates so well at town hall meetings as his humor creates an immediate connection with the audience. His detractors will note that some of his jokes have been inapprporiate, and in some cases that's true, hence his humor as liability. It can also cause problems because in print, jokes often don't come across the way they do in person. For instance, during the primaries Senator McCain jokingly called a student who asked him a somewhat inappropriate question 'a little jerk' (clip below). There was quite a buzz in the papers until people actually saw the clip, and it was quite evident that he was joking.

So now comes the humorous and sarcastic McCain ad The One. In this case humor turns out to be the perfect remedy for an over-inflated ego. It's hard not see lines like, "We are the ones we've been waiting for" or "a light will shine down from somewhere" as flat out funny. To add to this Obama's reaction is priceless. His stern condemnation of the ads 'juvenile' just shows his inability to laugh at himself. You know that if you make a joke at Senator McCain's expense he'll likely be the first one to laugh (as he has done numerous times when teased about his age). On the other hand, Senator Obama blew it by taking this joke and himself so seriously.

Humor as a Remedy for Hubris

Barry, A Christian? Not According to the Bible....

You know, I don't go out of my way to quote stories out of WorldNetDaily, Because I have a personal problem with the owner of that site.  But I think that this is important to Christians and Conservatives alike. Barry's supposed Christianity is, for intents and purposes, a joke that is being played upon the American people. Now, I do not believe that Obama is going to be the Anti-Christ, But he is quite the deceiver, as you can see below:

Quote:

I commend all Americans to read the Chicago Sun-Times piece – especially all those professing a Christian faith. What he says is alarming. What he says shows he has a fundamental misunderstanding of what it means to be a Christian.

Asked what he believes, Obama chimed in: "I am a Christian. I'm rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people. That there are values that transcend race or culture, that move us forward, and there's an obligation for all of us individually as well as collectively to take responsibility to make those values lived."

Many paths to the same place?

This is the antithesis of what Jesus reveals in Scripture, for example, in John 14:6: "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Obama also says in the interview he doesn't know if he is going to heaven., nor does he believe the alternative is hell.

That's pretty remarkable for someone professing to be a Christian. While I know, because Scripture tells us so, there will be many turned away from the narrow gate that leads to eternal life on judgment day, it's unusual for someone claiming to be a believer to be uncertain about his eternal fate. It suggests a high degree of spiritual confusion. - Barack Obama: One mixed-up spirit (via WorldNetDaily)

Now there is quite a bit, that I could say about the condition of Joe Farah's heart and his Spiritual condition, especially after the little e-mail exchange that took place between him and myself a little while back, but for the purpose of this article, I will simply point out that Farah has a good point here. If this is what Barry calls true Christianity, then he is quite deceived.

There is a name for what Barry is describing, it is called the doctrine of Universalism. You can learn more about that, by clicking here and by going here to read the definition of it. It would be quite safe to say that Universalism is, quite the Liberal Christian doctrine. If the shoe fits, wear it, I suppose.

Of course, seeing the direction that the Democrats are headed in at the moment, we might not have to worry, because all the Democrats might kill one another off at their convention in Denver. One can only hope. SurpriseWinkingTongueBig Grin
