BE AWARE: OH Organizers Pushing Healthcare Reform

I received a copy of this request -- from UHCAN Ohio to promote government healthcare reform -- we must communicate our opposition!!!!

Request for Proposals for Targeted Media in Southwest Ohio UHCAN Ohio and the Ohio Consumers for Health Coverage is engaged in a campaign to inform the public about the importance of federal health care reform and reduce the fear that is being created by opponents of health care reform who are spreading misinformation. We are looking for a media/communications consultant who can secure for us earned media opportunities to spread a positive message on health care reform and inform the public on the many areas that are rife with confusion. Our target market is the eight counties of Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Hamilton, Highland and Warren. We desire to mount a media campaign over the next three months that will cross print, broadcast, cable, and internet media. We are looking for opportunities to reach a broad swath of the public and of interest groups, such as business or religious constituencies. The pace of federal health care reform efforts has dramatically accelerated since early June 2009. If meaningful health care reform is to happen two needs must be met:(1)   Voters need to remain positive about reform, even as contentious debate arises over details of reform (such as the public health insurance option and the financing of reform) and as opponents of reform undermine public support with fear mongering.(2)   Federal legislators need to hear from voters that they want to see federal action on health care this year and that they care about affordability, quality, and health care security for all Americans. For voters to remain positive about health care reform, they need to receive positive messages and reliable information that reinforces the benefits they will derive from health care reform.  Meeting the Need for Clear Messages that Reduce the Fear Being Engendered by the Opponents of Health Care Reform.  People get most of their information from broadcast, cable and internet media, as well as people (family, friends, co-workers and others) who repeat to them what they heard in the mass media. The opponents of health care reform are spending millions of dollars on persuading the public that health care reform will result in a “government takeover” and “get in between them and their doctor.” The proponents of health care reform need to find ways to gain earned media to let people know that health care reform will protect and improve their choices.  We are looking for a PR consultant local to Southwest Ohio who will secure opportunities in Southwest Ohio across media types for UHCAN Ohio and Ohio Consumers for Health Coverage staff and partners to discuss health care reform.  We need a PR consultant to secure for us these opportunities:1.      Appearances on radio talk shows2.      Appearances on “drive time” radio programs3.      Appearances on broadcast and cable TV4.      Articles in daily and weekly newspapers targeted at the general public5.      Articles in specialty newspapers, such as those targeted at religious communities or the business community6.      Connections made through social networking sites including the blogosphere Time Frame:·         This will be a three month contract taking place between August and October.  Contractor Responsibilities:·         Contractor will pitch stories and potential interviewees to the media. Contractor will identify blogs that discuss health care (among other topics) that have a readership in Southwest Ohio and refer Client to those blogs.  Client will be responsible for furnishing the person(s) to be interviewed, and for developing messaging around health care reform. Client works with a communications organization in Columbus, and has some outside technical assistance from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation on messaging. Client primarily needs a consultant who has local connections and can secure media exposure.  Please submit a brief proposal to UHCAN Ohio stating(1)   Your history of securing media for small groups and not-for-profit groups(2)   Your history of handling communications that are part of a campaign(3)   Your history of working with health care professional or advocacy groups(4)   The plan you would undertake to secure significant earned media coverage in the next three months in Southwest Ohio on health care reform (including how you track media hits)(5)   Your fee. Ohio Consumers for Health Coverage is a consumer-based coalition seeking fundamental health care reform benefitting consumers. It is staffed by UHCAN Ohio. Information about UHCAN Ohio and OCHC can be found at their web sites:www.uhcanohio.orgwww.ohioconsumersforhealth.org Proposals should be submitted no later than 5 PM

Unemployed Because of Obama

Unemployment Line

by Lance Thompson

The eager applicant, clutching his resume, strides confidently through the doors of the Enemies of America Human Resources Agency, and is immediately disheartened by the long lines of would-be terrorists, assassins, saboteurs and spies seeking jobs from the overworked bureaucrats of the jihad.

The employment counselor, Mulli al Rashiri, in his traditional Ghutra and short-sleeved thobe, motions the applicant to a chair.

“My name is Mohammed,” announces the applicant, handing over his resume.  “I want to join the fight against America.”

Mulli the counselor glances at the resume and shakes his head.  “I wish you’d come a year ago.  Everybody was hiring–al Qaeda, the Taliban, Iran death squads.  Could have got you a free trip to Venezuela just for an interview.  But now–nothing”

“But I am qualified in demolitions, firearms, subversion,” Mohammed pleads.  “I was voted Most Likely to Be Interviewed by MSNBC by my terrorist training class.”

“Just no need these days.”

“I can infiltrate the CIA, learn all their secret interrogation methods.”

“The Obama administration has already made those public.  And even if they hadn’t spilled all their secret interrogation techniques, the American Attorney General is prosecuting the lawyers who authorized them.  We have nothing to fear from the CIA.”

“I’m very good at propaganda.  I could devise campaigns to make the Americans look weak and untrustworthy to other nations.“

The counselor holds up his hand.  “Obama’s already done that.  He has abandoned the Eastern Europeans, belittled the British, kowtowed to the Russians, befriended Hugo Chavez, and answered the North Korean missile launch by promising not to weaponize space.  There is nothing you can do to weaken or embarrass the Americans that their president hasn’t already done.”

“How about sabotage?  I could penetrate their advanced aircraft factories and destroy their state-of-the-art fighter planes.”

“The Secretary of Defense already did that when he cancelled the F-22 program.  No need to destroy their front-line fighters–the Americans are scrapping the entire program.”

Desperate, Mohammed struggles to find a place in the fight.  “I could learn white collar crime.  I could work on Wall Street, destroy their financial system.”

“Obama has already taken care of that with his stimulus and spending bills.  America is spending trillions of dollars they don’t have, nationalizing banks and private industry, bringing in socialized medicine.  Obama is engineering the total collapse of the American financial system.  Do you really think you can do worse than that?”

“But I need a job.”

“So does every terrorist in the world.  Look, when Bush was in charge, and we were losing twenty, thirty, fifty holy warriors a day, we were desperate for new recruits.  But now I get thousands of applications for every job.  Even to be an entry-level community organizer for ACORN, you have to know somebody.  Ever since Obama and the Democrats took over, the job market in terrorism, insurrection, and anti-American subversion has plummeted.  Unemployment among terrorists has skyrocketed.”

“What should I do?”

“There’s always a need for suicide bombers.”  Mulli the counselor points to a long, stationary line of last-resort applicants.  “Good benefits, full retirement.”

Mohammed shakes his head.  “I was looking for something with more of a future.”

Mulli checks his computer.  “Al Franken is looking for a chief of staff.”

Mohammed pretends not to hear.  “I have a master’s degree from the Anti-American University in Tehran.  Maybe I could teach.”

Mulli shakes his head.  “It would take years of hard work and study to be able to indoctrinate American students to hate their country more successfully than the subversive teachers, textbooks and social programs already established in the American educational system.”

Mohammed’s hopes are crushed.  “All my life, I have studied how evil the United States is.  I hate America.  I want to tear America down.  There must be something I can do.”

“Have you thought about becoming a community organizer?”

Community organizer gone bad

Not the first. And with the trillions of dollars being ladled out to local politicians by the Obamatons, won;t be the last, for sure.

Hartford Mayor Eddie A. Perez will walk into a state police barracks this morning and surrender himself on bribery charges, a dramatic step in the corruption probe that has hung over the city and his administration for nearly two years.State criminal investigators have circled Perez since early 2007, seeking documents and secret testimony on issues ranging from the city's nearly $1 billion school construction project to parking lot deals for an aging North End politician. In October 2007, the state formed an investigatory grand jury to probe allegations of political corruption in the mayor's administration. In an interview in the office of his attorney, Hubert J. Santos, on Monday, Perez said the state's case against him appears to be related to the roughly $20,000 he paid city contractor Carlos Costa for a new kitchen counter and a renovated bathroom with two sinks, a whirlpool tub and a steam shower.

Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah,....NOT!

I came into possession of this e-mail, which does not conjure up pictures of happy children in the Catskills hiking and swimming

I want to tell you about an exciting program we're launching called Camp Obama.

During these training sessions, people like you will be taking their support for this movement to the next level by learning the organizing principles that this campaign and our movement for change are built on.

Camp Obama attendees will receive real world organizing experience that will have a direct impact on this election. Graduates of Camp Obama will go on to become Deputy Field Organizers who will lead this campaign to victory in crucial battleground states around the country.

Find out more about this exciting opportunity to take a leadership role in this movement for change.

By participating in Camp Obama, you'll get the kind of experience that Barack got as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago, where he learned that real change happens from the bottom up.

That experience transformed Barack's life and made him who he is today.

Camp Obama is your chance to put those very same principles into action -- to win this election and to strengthen democracy in communities around the country.

After completing the program, you'll be required to work as a Deputy Field Organizer in a battleground state where you'll be organizing supporters and helping lead our grassroots Get Out The Vote operation.

Apply for a spot at Camp Obama and become a leader in our movement for change:

http://ct.barackobama.com/CampObamaCT

This campaign relies on the passion and enthusiasm of ordinary supporters, but it needs leaders who can organize these supporters and turn their enthusiasm into votes on Election Day.

Camp Obama is your chance to step up and become a leader in this movement.

So, being a community organizer "transformed Barack's life and made him who he is today." (and what is that, precisely?)

I dunno, but here's what a mainstream paper wrote about this little endeavor. Trust me, it does not sound very Jeffersonian in its approach

'Ruthless' for Obama

WEST LOOP | Intensive course gets volunteers fired up, turns them into activists

The next tip is to be absolutely ruthless," Jocelyn Woodards tells the campers. "We want you to be determined, ambitious, take a risk."

No toasted marshmallows here. This is the second day of Camp Obama, a two-day (sometimes four-day) intensive training course in becoming an activist to help get Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) elected president. .......

Obama is not like other candidates, and part of this training is learning to mimic the methods he used before he was an elected official -- back when he was a community organizer in Chicago following the textbook of legendary agitator Saul Alinsky......

"We want you to stop thinking about Barack Obama and be Barack Obama," she says.

Scary, isn't it.

I have previously been concerned the Obama camp does not want to keep the same rules as previous campaigns. They are directly trying to build a personality based political movement which can be independent of the old-line Democratic organization; whom I suspect they believe are too associated with pragmatic DLC types.

Now I think my fears have been confirmed.

No, this is clearly an effort  to indoctrinate a new crop of leftist social activists, whose idea of responding to an economic crisis will be the harassment of productive businesses and citizens. Perhaps mirth will occur at these sessions--I'm sure many jokes about Governor Palin's children will be exchanged.  Maybe the Obama personal seal will be displayed, or a Roman Temple constructed to received the "One's" word from on high.

I have no idea if Kool-Aid will be served, by the way.

The principle here will be that America must change exactly the way the far left wants it to change, and dissenting opinions will be disrespected and mocked.  That's what "Camp Obama" is all about. Getting ruthless  and "being Barack Obama"

And after the browbeating of the major Jewish groups over the Iran protest, the hacking of Sarah Palin's personal e-mails, the desire to censor talk radio and sundry other affronts to human decency from the Obama camp, one wonders if they have a different camp  in mind for their political opponents

Become a Community Organizer: Campaign for Obama

Here is a photo of signs post all around downtown Harrisburg, advertising for "Community Organizers":

That's right, working as a "community organizer" is essentially the same as working to elect Obama. Here is the job description, from a Marxist group called Citizens for a Progressive Future.

Of course, this should surprise no one.  Despite the faux outrage from liberals that Republicans have mocked Barack Obama's background as a "community organizer," this is the kind of thing community organizers - at least the variety that Obama worked for and with in Chicago - actually do.

Steven Malanga writes how these community organizers rely on taxpayer fund to essentially advocate for more taxpayer funding:

Meanwhile, groups like the radical ACORN have used government funding to run voter-registration drives that are supposed to be nonpartisan efforts but that have concentrated in signing up voters in heavily Democratic districts to elect politicians who advance ACORN's political goals and protect funding for community activists.

Michelle Malkin notes the same reliance on taxpayer funding of political activity, as well as the voter fraud and illegal activity frequently done by groups like ACORN:

Last week, Milwaukee's top election official announced plans to seek criminal investigations of 37 ACORN employees accused of offering gifts to sign up voters (including prepaid gas cards and restaurant cards) or falsifying driver's license numbers, Social Security numbers or other information on voter registration cards.

Last month, a New Mexico TV station reported on the child rapists, drug offenders and forgery convicts on ACORN's payroll. In July, Pennsylvania investigators asked the public for help in locating a fugitive named Luis R. Torres-Serrano, who is accused "of submitting more than 100 fraudulent voter registration forms he collected on behalf of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now to county election officials." Also in July, a massive, nearly $1 million embezzlement scheme by top ACORN officials was exposed.

ACORN's political arm endorsed Obama in February and has ramped up efforts to register voters across the country. In the meantime, completely ignored by the mainstream commentariat and clean-election crusaders, the Obama campaign admitted failing to report $800,000 in campaign payments to ACORN. They were disguised as payments to a front group called "Citizen Services, Inc." for "advance work."

And Capital Research Center has a good discussion of the background of Obama/Alinsky community organizing, and its background in Marxist ideology.
