Barack Obama is making good on one of his campaign promises: Close GITMO, or Camp Justice. President Barack Hussein Obama signed an Executive Order that will close GITMO within a year. The Obama administration is looking at three military prisons — in Kansas (LEAVENWORTH), California and South Carolina — along with the civilian Supermax prison in Colorado as potential sites for the Guantanamo detainees. HOWEVER, Kansas does not want the detainees, President Obama's decision to close the Gitmo prison leaves an important question unanswered: where do they go now? Some have suggested they be transferred to Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., but both Sens. Pat Roberts and Sam Brownback oppose this proposal. Rev. Rick Warren has been picked by Barack Obama to give the invocation at the swearing in ceremony on January 20, 2009. At exactly 12:00 noon eastern standard time, the Chief Justice John Roberts will preside over Barack Hussein Obama's Oath of Office, making Barack Hussein Obama the 44th President of these United States. This is an historic event, probably a little bit more historic than on January 20, 2005 when Rev. Dr. Luis Leon gave the invocation at George W. Bush's second inauguration. This announcement and historic occasion presents a challenge to Rev. Dr. Rick Warren, what shall I pray? I took it upon myself, to help out the good Doctor & Reverend, so I placed a call to the Saddleback Church in California. The receptionist was friendly and pleasant, as I told her of how God laid it upon my heart to help the good Doctor & Reverend with his supplication. As you can assume, I did not get through to the Doctor & Reverend Rick Warren, not is all lost because I have his email and guess who is getting a link to this article? To help the Reverend out, I want to accomplish two tasks, first educate the American People, as you all know by now, the American Populist is not to bright. I mean, when God handed out the brains, the Americans where ahead of the Brits but behind the Chinese, Mexicans, Arab States etc., so the American people need to be brought-up to speed. Second, I do not want to put words in the good Doctor & Reverend's mouth, I want to give him some examples and tips on praying great prayers that get past the ceiling. First, most if not all Americans have no clue what an invocation is? In the words of Forrest Gump, "my momma says," if you do not know what it means use a dictionary.

1. the act of invoking or calling upon a deity, spirit, etc., for aid, protection, inspiration, or the like; supplication.

2. any petitioning or supplication for help or aid.

3. a form of prayer invoking God's presence, esp. one said at the beginning of a religious service or public ceremony.

I like number three, that is what an invocation is, prayer invoking God's presence. I thought it was interesting to note that in some way or another the Reverend Billy Graham or his son, Franklin has been a part of the Presidential Inauguration since 1953, except for 2005 and now with the emerging Billy Graham of this generation Dr. Rick Warren, oh how I digress.

Moving forward to the second part, style and substance. To accomplish a style and substance that is for this generation, the instant generation, the generation of instant messaging, cell phones, texting, Blackberry, ipod, iphones, etc. etc. etc., you get my point, the prayers of Billy Graham are like hymns to this generation of CHANGE. What you need is hip, refreshing, and meaningful prayer. By this, I do not mean, lets throw away the prayers that came before us, no, no, no, because in each generation there are prayers that reach across generational lines, that are powerful, that are meaningful, that are hip, and they all come from the depths of the heart. Dr. & Rev. Rick Warren, here is your key, pray from the depths of your heart and in the words of Aretha Franklin "Say a little prayer," keep it short.

Dr. & Rev. Rick Warren here are examples of prayers that came from the depths of the heart, from ordinary, everyday men of God. I have purposefully left out the One, who taught us how to pray,but the ones you will examine invoke his lesson of crying out to God from the heart.

Dr.& Rev. Rick Warren, all the above prayers come from men who were real, even though they have all gone to glory, their words, their utterances, their prayers from the heart are timeless and relevant for this generation as they were when they were first uttered.

Nearly a year ago on December 27, 2007, Barack Obama delivered a speech in Des Moines, Iowa, that has been called "OUR MOMENT IS NOW", in that speech Obama emphasized a NEW KIND OF POLITICS:

I chose to run because I believed that the size of these challenges had outgrown the capacity of our broken and divided politics to solve them; because I believed that Americans of every political stripe were hungry for a new kind of politics, a politics that focused not just on how to win but why we should, a politics that focused on those values and ideals that we held in common as Americans; a politics that favored common sense over ideology, straight talk over spin.

The American Public is starting to get a glimpse of the New Kind of Politics with the arrest of the Illinois Gov. Blagojevich. Yesterday, during a press conference with Al Gore, President-elect denied having any contact with the Illinois Governor in regard to his vacant Senate seat. Asked what contact he'd had with the governor's office about his replacement in the Senate, President-elect Obama today said "I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening."

Also, on November 23, 2008, his senior adviser David Axelrod appeared on Fox News Chicago and said that, while insisting that the President-elect had not expressed a favorite to replace him, and his inclination was to avoid being a "kingmaker," Axelrod said, "I know he's talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them."

Now the Obama's transition team is denying that the discussion with Obama and the Governor ever took place. Axelrod even issued a statement last night saying:

"I was mistaken when I told an interviewer last month that the President-elect has spoken directly to Governor Blagojevich about the Senate vacancy. They did not then or at any time discuss the subject."

At this point there are no allegations that Barack Obama had anything to do with the alledged crimes of Governor Blagojevich. But, we are starting to see a pattern with Mr. Obama when he is confronted with a problem, CONCEAL HIDE, and DENY. It all goes back to the question What do we know about Obama? I would love to see his birth certificate, law school records and the list goes on. Now, we have the new kind of politics Illinois style, in fact, when Obama met with Meet the Press and Tom Brokaw this past weekend. Mr. Brokaw asked Obama about Hillary Clinton's potential replacement in the US Senate and Obama answered,

President-elect talked with the Governor of Illinois and he even told Mr. Brokaw about Illinois Politics. Also, Obama is deeply tied to Governor Blagojevich. Jake Tapper an ABC News' Senior White House Correspondent based in the network's Washington bureau writes about this relationship with Obama and the Illinois Governor in his article,

And, it should be pointed out, Mr. Obama has a relationship with Mr. Blagojevich, having not only endorsed Blagojevich in 2002 and 2006, but having served as a top adviser to the Illinois governor in his first 2002 run for the state house.

That 2002 endorsement came at the same time that Axelrod had such serious concerns about whether Blagojevich was ready for governing he refused to work for his one-time client.

According to Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., Mr. Obama's incoming White House chief of staff, Emanuel, then-state senator Obama, a third Blagojevich aide, and Blagojevich's campaign co-chair, David Wilhelm, were the top strategists of Blagojevich's 2002 gubernatorial victory.

Emanuel told the New Yorker earlier this year that he and Obama "participated in a small group that met weekly when Rod was running for governor. We basically laid out the general election, Barack and I and these two."

The Obama relationships continue and what is so amazing, is that, January 20, 2009 is still over a month away, Obama is hoping he can CONCEAL, HIDE, and DENY until he is sworn-in as our 44th President, then his "New Kind of Politics" of CONCEAL, HIDE, and DENY will be easier with EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE.

JUSTICE THOMAS BREAKS CUSTOM: WILL SUPREME COURT DECIDE OBAMA CITIZENSHIP CASE? WE THE PEOPLE ADVERTISE IN CHICAGO

Donofrio v. Wells No.08A407 has been distributed and is scheduled for conference on December 5, 2008, thanks to Justice Clarence Thomas. The U.S. Supreme Court scheduling docket for No.08A407

shows the history of the writ of certiorari of Donofrio v. Wells. Justice Thomas has asked his colleagues to consider the lawsuit challenging President-elect Obama's status as a United States citizen.

Thomas action took place after the presiding Justice over the New Jersey district had rejected the petition known as an application for a stay of writ of certiorari that asked the court to prevent the Electoral College on December 15, 2008, which will certify Obama as the 44th president of the United States.

The AFRO American News reports

Thomas's actions were rare because, by custom, when a justice rejects a petition from his own circuit, like Justice Souter did in this case, the matter is dead. Even if, as can be the case under Rule 22 the matter can be submitted to another justice for consideration, that justice out of respect, will reject it also. Trevor Morrison, a professor of law at Columbia University School of Law, said that "Thomas's actions are once in a decade." "When that does happen the case has to be of an extraordinary nature and this does not fit that circumstance." Read the Full Story.

What will it take for the Justices to docket this cause and hear oral arguments? The RULE OF FOUR, four of the nine justices must agree to hear this case, if four of the justice agree then the case will be heard. Donofrio v. Wells, the lawyer turned "citizen advocate is not questioning Obama's birth certificate, but rather his citizenship, in fact the Kansas City Star in todays A-1 front page article mistakenly stated that this action dealt with Obama's birth certificate, that is not the case as Donofrio states that Obama was born in Hawaii, that is not the issue in this action. Compelling evidence supports the claim that you are barred from holding the Office of President by the “natural born citizen” clause of the U.S. Constitution. For instance:

Your father was a Kenyan citizen at the time of your birth and your mother was 18.

Legal affidavits state you were born in Kenya.

Your grandmother is recorded on tape saying she attended your birth in Kenya.

Hawaii Dept of Health will not confirm your assertion that you were born in Hawaii.

You have posted an unsigned, computer-generated birth form that was created in 2007, a form that lacks vital information found on an original, hand signed Certificate of Live Birth, such as hospital address, signature of attending physician and age of mother.

U.S. Law in 1961 denied U.S. citizenship to any child born in Kenya if the father was Kenyan and the mother was not yet 19 years of age.

In 1965, your mother legally relinquished whatever Kenyan or U.S. citizenship she and you had by marrying an Indonesian and becoming a naturalized Indonesian citizen.
You have repeatedly refused to provide evidence of your eligibility when challenged to do so in a number of recent lawsuits. Instead, you have been successful in having judges declare that they are powerless to order you to prove your eligibility to assume the Office of President.

For instance, the judge in Pennsylvania ruled the challenger had no standing to question your eligibility because his harm would be no different from the harm to be suffered by all other American citizens if you, as an ineligible person were to assume the Presidency. The judge in Hawaii actually said it would be an invasion of your privacy for him to order access to your original birth certificate in order to prove your eligibility to hold the Office of President.

Before you can legitimately exercise any of the powers of the President you must meet all the criteria for eligibility established by the Constitution. You are under a moral, legal, and fiduciary duty to proffer such evidence. Should you assume the office as anyone but a bona fide natural born citizen of the United States who has
not relinquished that citizenship, you would be inviting a national crisis that would undermine the domestic peace and stability of the Nation. For example:

You would always be viewed by many Americans as a poseur - a usurper.

As a usurper, you would be unable to take the required “Oath or Affirmation” on January 20 without committing the crime of perjury or false swearing, for being ineligible you cannot faithfully execute the Office of the President of the United States.

You would be entitled to no obedience whatsoever from the People.

The armed forces would be under no legal obligation to remain obedient to you.

No civilian in the Executive Branch would be required to obey any of your proclamations, executive orders or directives, as such orders would be legally void.

Your appointments of Ambassadors and Judges to the Supreme Court would be void no matter what subsequent actions the Senate might take.

Congress would not be able to pass new laws because it would not be able to acquire the signature of a bona fide President.

As a usurper, Congress would be unable to remove you from the Office of the President on Impeachment, inviting certain political chaos including a potential for armed conflicts within the General Government or among the States and the People to effect the removal of such a usurper.
In consideration of the escalating constitutional crisis brought on by the total lack of evidence needed to conclusively establish your eligibility, I am compelled to lodge a First Amendment Petition for a Redress of this constitutional tort.

With all due respect, I ask that you immediately direct the appropriate Hawaiian officials to allow access to the vault copy of your birth certificate by our forensic scientists on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 5, 6 and 7, 2008.

In addition, I ask that you to arrange to have the following documentary evidence delivered to the National Press Club by 10 am on December 8, 2008.

a certified copy of your “vault” (original long version) birth certificate.

certified copies of all reissued and sealed birth certificates in the names Barack Hussein Obama, Barry Soetoro, Barry Obama, Barack Dunham and Barry Dunham.

a certified copy of your Certification of Citizenship.

a certified copy of your Oath of Allegiance taken upon age of maturity.

certified copies of your admission forms for Occidental College, Columbia University and Harvard Law School.

Here is my clear and practical legal analysis on the question of whether Obama is or is not a natural born citizen of the United States of America. As a criminal defense attorney, if my clients are guilty they will hide and conceal the truth as long as they are able. Mr. Obama reminds me of some of my clients, if you are innocent expose the evidence, reveal the truth, if you are guilty conceal, hide, & deny. Here Obama has continued to conceal, hide, & deny. He continues to conceal his original Birth Certificate, his college records, and his law school records. If he was actually a natural born citizen would he not want to readily prove this, instead of making this a issue that may or may not be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court.

So what does this mean? Obama is hiding or trying to conceal something, I do not know what it is, but this is the typical behavior of someone who does not want the truth revealed, whatever that is? However, the end result is this, the electoral college will convene on December 15, 2008, President-elect will be certified as the 44th president of the United States of America. On January 20, 2009 at 12:00 noon, Mr. Obama will place his left hand on the Bible and will be sworn in as the 44th President. President Obama will swear to protect and defend the U.S. Constitution, and he will occupy the White House as the President at least for four years.

The London Times reports today that Pirates are wreaking havoc off Africa, threatening world trade. But as governments fight back, the raiders are getting more daring and their demands are growing.

Google Somali Pirates and the headlines abound, but this is nothing new even in Somalia, below is a map of the recorded Pirate attacks of the coast of Somalia, East Africa from 2007;

Surprise attacks by Muslim pirates, lost lives, cargo and ships lost, a U.S. president who decides to let slip the dogs of war --these are the headlines of today, yet these are ripped not from the headlines but from the pages of history books. If you have forgotten the Barbary War, Joseph Wheelan who wrote the book "Jefferson's War: The First War on Terror 1801-1805" wants to remind you.

"When it is remembered at all," the former newspaper reporter writes in "Jefferson's War," "the 1801-5 war with Tripoli is often recalled as a swashbuckling adventure bookended by America's two struggles with England. ... In truth, the Barbary War was America's first war on terror."

For two centuries, the piratical Muslim powers of Tripoli, Tunis, Algiers and Morocco had treated the Mediterranean and eastern Atlantic as their personal hunting preserve, capturing hundreds of thousands of Christian slaves and millions of dollars' worth of booty. And although their power had faded significantly by the end of the 18th century, the North Africans continued to extort additional millions from Western nations by means of regularly broken treaties - "a jihad protection racket," in Wheelan's phrase.

When Thomas Jefferson assumed the presidency in 1801, the Barbary States and the idea of dealing with them by naval force had been in his mind for years. And so U.S. ships were dispatched _ to serve as a "squadron of observation" if violence proved unnecessary or (in the words of Navy Secretary Samuel Smith) "to protect our commerce and chastise their insolence - by sinking, burning or destroying their ships and vessels wherever you shall find them."

As it happened, the Barbary War was not a constant clash of water-borne cannon - frustrations emerged because some U.S. officers proved less than pugnacious - and "Jefferson's War" smells less of blood and gunpowder than some might expect. Wheelan draws lines between "The Terror" of 200 years ago and that of today, and the headlines in the past few weeks draw the lines boldly. Yet, something is missing . . . could it be a leader of Jefferson's calibre?

The National reports that India's anti-piracy aggression is a sign of an emerging Super-Power, the article continues, the United States has been particularly feeble. Last week the US navy told shipping companies to ensure their own security by hiring private contractors. Yet over three years ago Adm Michael Mullin, now chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, suggested a global security partnership to tackle maritime piracy and terrorism. The only result is the US-run Global Fleet Station, a pilot version of which was launched last year in the Caribbean, suggesting the United States is either living in the past or watching too many movies. Contrast this with the Indian government authorised hot pursuit of pirate vessels, announced the imminent dispatch of three more warships and a reconnaissance aircraft and urged the United Nations to orchestrate joint action. The International Maritime Bureau has praised India’s response and urged the international community to follow it. Where is Jefferson? Where is the USA? Is the USA on the verge of losing its dominance in the world? Is Somalian Pirates along with the War in Iraq, the War in Afghanistan, and the coming show-down with Iran, along with the Economic turmoil in our markets the final steps toward the future of the USA as a Super-Power of yesterday? Illinois Sen. Barack Obama delivered a speech on Wednesday, June 4, before the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) where he stated that: Let me be clear. Israel's security is sacrosanct. It is non-negotiable. The Palestinians need a state that is contiguous and cohesive, and that allows them to prosper — but any agreement with the Palestinian people must preserve Israel's identity as a Jewish state, with secure, recognized and defensible borders. Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided. (Text of Obama's Speech to AIPAC June 4, 2008) Now more change, President-elect Barack Obama has decided to base his diplomatic approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on the 2002 Saudi Peace Plan, the Times of London reports today. A “senior Obama adviser” tells the Times that Obama will back the plan that divides Jerusalem into two capitals and pulls Israel back to pre-1967 borders: "Barack Obama is to pursue an ambitious peace plan in the Middle East involving the recognition of Israel by the Arab world in exchange for its withdrawal to pre-1967 borders, according to sources close to America’s president-elect. Obama intends to throw his support behind a 2002 Saudi peace initiative endorsed by the Arab League and backed by Tzipi Livni, the Israeli foreign minister and leader of the ruling Kadima party. The proposal gives Israel an effective veto on the return of Arab refugees expelled in 1948 while requiring it to restore the Golan Heights to Syria and allow the Palestinians to establish a state capital in east Jerusalem." Apparently, Obama has changed his position from his speech at AIPAC. "Jerusalem must remain undivided,” is no longer Obama's plan which drew thunderous applause and roars of criticism later from Palestinian groups. Within hours after the speech, Obama retreated to the Bush administration position — that Jerusalem should be left to the two sides to negotiate in the final settlement. Now he has switched sides to the exact opposite of what he argued at AIPAC. One has to wonder what the 70% of Jewish voters that supported Obama will think of this new position on Israel’s borders and security, but AIPAC will not be applauding. Is Israel's security really "sacrosanct" to Mr. Obama? Or are these just words and statements to satisfy the would be voters? Is Obama a true friend of Israel? These are all questions that will be answered during the Obama presidency rather sooner than later, because I have my doubts as to Israel's place in Mr. Obama's heart and foreign-policy, the only true friends of Israel are the Jews themselves and the Evangelicals. The reason Evangelicals are friends of Israel is because of their belief in God's Word (Bible, Tanakh) as inerrant. The Jew and the land of Israel go hand and hand. Evangelicals believe that the Jewish people own a divine deed from God to that land, as God promised Abraham through Isaac that Israel as a great nation will inhabit the Land (Genesis 12:7). Evangelicals believe all of Jerusalem belongs to Israel, in 1004 BCE King David conquered Jerusalem from the Jebusites. Makes Jerusalem the capital. Not only that David buys the Threshing- floor from Ornan the Jebusite, the Temple Mount (II Samuel 24:18-24; I Chronicles 21:18-25). The Evangelicals know that there were two Temples, the first one built by Solomon and destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 BCE. The Second Temple was destroyed in 70 CE by the Romans and the People of Israel were dispersed, but with a promise that God would bring them back to the land (Ezekiel 36:24-26,34). In 1948 Israel became a sovereign Nation and survivied the War for Independence, many Jews have returned to the Land and are still coming to this day. In 1967 during the Six Day War Israel conquered the Old City of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. Evangelical's believe a Third Temple will be built in the future. Evangelical's believe that those who bless Israel shall be blessed and those that curse Israel shall be cursed. Evangelical's are the true friends of Israel. The United States of America has long been a true friend of Israel and we as a nation have been blessed by God because of our support of Israel. Now will Obama abandon his words that "Jerusalem must remain undivided." Bailout Mania has hit the United States hard, what started as a $700 billion bailout package has turned into $3.45 Trillion Dollars, yes, $3.45 trillion has already been spent, as Bailoutsleuth.com details: $2T Emergency Fed Loans (the ones the Fed won't discuss) $700B TARP "Troubled Assets Relief Program" (designed to buy bad debt, the fund is rapidly transforming) $300B Hope Now (the government's year-old attempt at mortgage workouts) $200B Fannie/Freddie $140B Tax Breaks for Banks $110B: AIG (with it's new deal this week, the big insurer got $40B of TARP money, plus $110B in other relief) Tallying up the "true" cost of the bailout is difficult, and won't be known for months if not years. But considering $3.5 trillion is about 25% of the U.S. economy's Gross Domestic Product ($13.8 trillion in 2007) and the U.S. deficit may hit $1 trillion in fiscal 2009. On November 10, 2008 American Express became a bank holding company and now the U. S. automakers GM, Ford, & Chrysler are looking for their share. Who will be next? When will it end? Where will it all end? The answer is easy if you take a rational approach to the Law of Economics. The National Debt of the United States of America is currently $10,622,223,198,682.54 that is almost $11 trillion dollars in debt, and the U.S. Government needs to raise the money to finance its $700bn Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP). The National's Wayne Arnold reports that "the president-elect, Barack Obama, has promised to pass a massive economic stimulus package when he takes office next January. “The US stimulus is negative for the dollar,” said Mr Xie. Why? Because the US government already owes over $10 trillion; to provide for TARP, Congress raised the debt ceiling to $11 trillion. A spending package will mean borrowing even more. The problem for Asia and the Persian Gulf area is that they already hold a sizeable portion of America’s debt. China alone holds about $750 billion of US Treasuries, according to Brad Setser, an economist in New York at the Council on Foreign Relations. Japan holds $595 billion and the Persian Gulf about $190 billion combined, he estimates." So, with more bailouts on the horizon and President-elect Barack Obama coming into office with his socialistic government programs this will only exacerbate the problem by increasing government spending and borrowing. The only real winner is Crane & Company. Crane & Company has manufactured currency and security papers for nearly 200 years and has continually supplied the United States Treasury with its currency paper since 1879. The engraving presses are in high gear at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP). This can only mean one thing more INFLATION. The costs of good and services will increase, the dollar will be worth less and less and American's purchasing power will decrease sharply. The problem is easy to see if you liken it to your own household: if you are in debt with a mortgage you cannot pay on your salary and then you increase that debt by 25% but that is not enough, now you have to bailout your car, your heating & A/C, your roof, your plumbing, your insurance, & your credit cards. That does not solve your problem adding debt to debt, that compounds the problem. The solution was to let your house go into foreclosure and get rid of the debt. The U.S. government has failed the American people when it passed TARP instead of letting the market forces correct the problem. Now the snow is tumbling down the mountain toward a total economic and monetary collapse. President Barack Obama with a Stroke of a pen on January 20, 2009, will institute his own ideology by implementing and reversing eight years of Bush Executive Orders. The Washington Post reports, that "Transition advisers to President-elect Barack Obama have compiled a list of about 200 Bush administration actions and executive orders that could be swiftly undone to reverse White House policies on climate change, stem cell research, reproductive rights and other issues, according to congressional Democrats, campaign aides and experts working with the transition team." Another article from LifeNews.com also quoting the Washington Post Article stating that Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion business, told the Post that she expects Obama to rescind the protections on taxpayer-funded abortions and abortion counseling immediately after his inauguration. "We have been communicating with his transition staff" almost daily, Richards said. "We expect to see a real change." The Post also indicates that Rep. Diana DeGette, a Colorado Democrat who has been one of the primary members of Congress pushing for embryonic stem cell research funding, prodded Obama during the campaign to make it a priority. She told the newspaper that supporters of funding the destructive and unproven research have already drafted language for an executive order that Obama can use. Responding to the news, Patrick J. Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition told LifeNews.com that Obama's making taxpayers fund abortion takes away from his claims to want to govern from the center and find common ground on abortion. Mahoney said "it would greatly increase abortions around the world. It would also create a scenario in which American evangelicals and Catholics would be paying for abortion referrals through their tax dollars." "If President-elect Obama reverses this policy, it would show a complete and blatant disregard for the faith values of millions of American Christians as well as expanding the violence and tragedy of abortion worldwide. America should be exporting justice and human rights, not brutality and violence," he said. On January 20, 2009 with the stroke of a pen Barack Obama plans to enact "Soft Tyranny" by exercising his executive power and not wait for congressional action. In a AP story, John Podesta, Obama's transition chief, said Sunday Obama is reviewing President Bush's executive orders on those issues and others as he works to undo policies enacted during eight years of Republican rule. He said the president can use such orders to move quickly on his own. "There's a lot that the president can do using his executive authority without waiting for congressional action, and I think we'll see the president do that," Podesta said. "I think that he feels like he has a real mandate for change. We need to get off the course that the Bush administration has set." Executive Orders have been used by sitting presidents since 1789 even though no provision or statute that explicitly permits Executive Orders exists in the U.S. Constitution. Only two Executive Orders have ever been overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, so President Obama's pen may bring a "Soft Tyranny." Soft tyranny is an idea first coined by Alexis de Tocqueville in his 1835 work entitled Democracy in America. In effect, soft tyranny occurs whenever the social conditions of a people hinder any prospect of hope among its members, with soft tyranny comes hope lost and freedom lost for the individual and a movement for the good of the collective. C.S. Lewis in his work "The Humanitarian Theory of Punishment" expresses that this soft tyranny is the most oppressive because we as a people are tormented day and night for our own good. "Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies.
